Irish language stage set to see music, dancing and drag shows as Gaeilge at An Chollchoill-Hazelwood over three days

Conradh na Gaeilge’s Croí na Féile is set to bring the Irish language to centre stage again this year at Electric Picnic. Once again, campers will have the opportunity to pitch their tents in the company of other Irish language speakers in the official Gaeltacht campsite, an Láthair Ghaeltachta.
The Irish language stage, An Chollchoill, will also be back again this year, which will celebrate Irish music, language and culture throughout the weekend. The Collchoill stage will have a mix of traditional music agus cultúr Gaelach with acts evey night from 19:00 to after midnight. These acts will feature great DJs such as Ailbhe Ní Riain, traditional music groups like Shandrum Céilí Band who have been entertaining festival goers at EP since the Collchoill stage started in 2018, as well as the incredible Bandia group who are known for their Irish language covers.
The campsite will offer a chance for people to use their Gaeilge throughout the weekend. An Láthair Ghaeltachta, which has sold out its ticket allocation over the last number of years, will offer people a chance to put the language at croí na féile and to enjoy a space with other Irish-speaking campers over the weekend.

“Electric Picnic is one of the biggest highlights on the annual musical calendar in Ireland, bringing together thousands of people to celebrate through music and culture. Festivals give us the opportunity to express ourselves in a unique way — and what is language but an expression of identity.
In the Collchoill, below the trees and under the cover of moonlight, revellers can come and listen to the best of music over the weekend. From DJs to drag queens and from trad collectives to 80's groups, this year’s programme will bring festival-goers down through the woods to a stage full of beautiful music and exciting bands, with artists such as The Len Collective, the Shandrum Céilí Band and Bandia set to take the stage.”

“Conradh na Gaeilge, with the support of Foras na Gaeilge, has put the Irish language at the heart of Electric Picnic since 2018 and we look forward to bringing Croí na Féile back to Ireland’s biggest music festival this year. People will have the opportunity to use Irish at the festival by camping in the Gaeltacht campsite and by stopping by the Collchoill stage on all three nights.
Conradh na Gaeilge invites Electric Picnic attendees to come and stay in the Gaeltacht campsite, where Irish will be the main spoken language with ceol, craic agus cannaí among Gaels at the festival.”
