SEAS: Seisiún Eolais agus Spreagtha
What is #SEAS?
#SEAS is the annual Conradh na Gaeilge Irish language and Gaeltacht lobbying clinic, organised north and south, to ensure local communities can speak directly to their elected representatives on a range of local and national Irish language and Gaeltacht campaigns.
#SEAS is normally organised in Buswells Hotel (Dublin) and in Stormont Hotel (Belfast) on an annual basis. Delegates and local activists can also plug into the meetings virtually.
“Through #SEAS we aim to create constructive spaces where local Irish speakers and communities have direct access to local and national decision makers and elected representatives, through which we can lobby on local and national Irish language and Gaeltacht issues,” said Dr Niall Comer, President of Conradh na Gaeilge. “Governments both north and south must listen to the needs and expectation of local communities and plan accordingly.”
