Welcome to Irish classes with Conradh na Gaeilge.
Registration for evening classes is not open at the moment, as the Spring Term is currently underway.
The Summer Term will begin in May. You can register for the List of Interest below. This means that you will be notified by email once registration for the Summer Term is open.
Please note that registration for the List of Interest does not guarantee you a place in a course. You must book your space in a course when invited to do so.

Afternoon class (new)
This class will run every Monday from 2-4pm.
The term will begin on Monday, 9th February. The term will run for eight weeks, until 30th March.
The cost of the term is €175
The classes will be held in-person, on 66 Camden St Lower, D02 X201.

Beginners 1 (A1.1)
Suitable for those:
Who are completely new to studying Irish
What will be covered:
Pronunciation & Language Structure Introduction
Basic Topics (e.g. Greetings, About Yourself, Home & Daily Life)
Basic Grammar (e.g. Pronouns, Present Tense, Prepositions, Numbers, Questions)
What to expect:
A friendly and encouraging environment, with lots of opportunities to ask questions
A mixture of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises
You are ready to move on when:
You have completed this A1.1 course

Beginners 2 (A1.2)
Suitable for those:
Who have taken an A1.1 course with us already.
Who have very basic knowledge of Irish (e.g., greetings, pronnuciation)
What will be covered:
Pronunciation & Language Structure Introduction
Basic Topics (e.g. Skills, Work, Food & Drink, Holidays)
Basic Grammar (e.g. Adjectives, The Copula, Past Tense, Imperative Tense)
What to expect:
A friendly and encouraging environment, with lots of opportunities to ask questions
A mixture of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises
A continuation of the A1.1 course
You are ready to move on when:
You have completed this A1.2 course and are confident with your level of understanding
You can understand everyday expressions and basic phrases
You can introduce yourself and answer simple personal questions
Refreshers 1 (A2.1)
Suitable for those:
Who have taken a Beginners Course
Who have a basic level of Irish (maybe from school) and are looking to reinforce their skills
What will be covered:
Basic Topics (e.g. Family, Hobbies, Work, Social Events)
Basic Grammar (e.g. The Copula, Word Order, Adverbs, The Infinitive)
What to expect:
A friendly and encouraging environment, with lots of opportunities to ask questions
A mixture of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises
Building on topics already covered at the A1 level
You are ready to move on when:
You have completed this A2.1 course

Refreshers 2 (A2.2)
Suitable for those:
Who have taken our A2.1 course
What will be covered:
Basic Topics (e.g. Food & Drink, Health, Descriptions, Shopping, Holidays, Directions)
Basic Grammar (e.g. The Article, Questions, Conditional Tense, Adjectives, Future Tense)
What to expect:
A friendly and encouraging environment, with lots of opportunities to ask questions
A mixture of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises
A continuation of the A2.1 course
Building on topics already covered at the A1 level
You are ready to move on when:
You have completed this A2.2 course and are confident with your level of understanding
You can understand expressions relating to the topics you have covered
You can communicate on familiar matters
You can describe yourself
Suitable for those:
Who have completed the A1 and A2 levels, or who completed Irish in school recently
Who have a good understanding of grammar and vocabulary, and are looking to build on communication skills
What will be covered:
Intermediate Topics (e.g. Family & Home, Work, Travel, Education, Descriptions)
Intermediate Grammar (e.g. Numbers, Vocative Case, Plurals, Dates, Indirect Speech, Prepositional Pronouns, Genitive Case)
What to expect:
A friendly and encouraging environment, with lots of opportunities to ask questions
A mixture of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises
A more in-depth look into the grammar points covered to date, and an introduction to more complicated structures and rules
You are ready to move on when:
You have completed this B1 course and and are confident with your level of understanding
You can understand information given on familiar matters
You can communicate on topics i.e. personal interests
You can recount experiences/events, and give explanations for opinions
Suitable for those:
Who have a strong understanding of Irish and want to face more challenging grammar topics and language structure
What will be covered:
High Intermediate Topics (e.g. Work, Education, Social Media, Technology, Politics)
High Intermediate Grammar (e.g.Irregular Rules, Subjunctive Mood, Clauses, The Copula, Genitive Case)
Avoiding Anglicism
What to expect:
A friendly and encouraging environment, with lots of opportunities to ask questions
A mixture of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises
Building on topics already covered in levels A1-B1
A more in-depth look into the grammar points covered to date, and an introduction to more complicated structures and rules
You are ready to move on when:
You have completed this B2 course and and are very confident with your level of understanding
You are able to understand difficult concepts through Irish with little difficulty
You can interact with a degree of spontaneity
You can communicate clearly on a wide range of topics and give in-depth explanations / opinions
Suitable for those:
Who have a very strong understanding of Irish
Who can understand complex Irish texts and grammar structures with little difficulty
Who are looking to improve communication and language richness
What you will learn:
Advanced Topics (e.g. Work, Education, Health, Entertainment, Society, Literature)
Advanced Grammar (e.g. Relative Clause, Genitive Case)
What to expect:
A friendly and encouraging environment, with lots of opportunities to ask questions
A mixture of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises
Building on topics already covered in levels A1-B2
A more in-depth look into the grammar points covered to date and an introduction to advanced structures and rules
