Public Opinions on the Irish Language
Cuireadh tús le ‘Céard é an Scéal? – Tuairimí an phobail i leith na Gaeilge’ sa bhliain 2015.
This research series was established by Conradh na Gaeilge in 2015, and is aimed at better understanding the views and opinions of the people of Ireland on various issues relating to the Irish language. The research is undertaken in order to:
- Recognise and highlight the ambitions and aims of the Irish speaking community both inside and outside the Gaeltacht.
- Consider the opinions of the general public on a number of issues relating to the Irish language.
- Find out which are the main obstacles, as they are understood by the Irish speaking community, against the growth of the language.
- Use the information collected to assist Irish language organisations, communities and activists in their current and future work.
