Strong cross-party support expressed by TDs and Seanadóirí today for Irish language legislation to be enacted in the north #ANOIS 

They also expressed support for the Lá Dearg which will take place on Saturday,  21st of May in Belfast

Conradh na Gaeilge today co-ordinated an event with representatives of political parties and independent politicians outside Leinster House to highlight their cross-party support for #AchtAnois, as part of the Dream Dearg language rights campaign, for Irish language legislation in the north to be enacted without further delay.

 

Support was also expressed for the Lá Dearg which is to be held this Saturday, May 21st, in Belfast. Thousands of people are expected to walk to City Hall to call for the Irish language legislation promised in the 2006 St Andrews Agreement, the 2020 New Decade New Approach agreement, by the British Government Secretary of State Brandon Lewis, in 2021 and by the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week during a visit to Belfast.

 

Representatives from Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Green Party, Labour, People Before Profit, Sinn Féin, Social Democrats and the independents were in attendance.
