We had an excellent event yesterday in Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail as part of our history and heritage project 'Claochlú Cultúir agus an Conradh. The project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund in the North and focuses on the history of Conradh na Gaeilge in Ulster. An excellent display was provided by Séamus Mac Dhaibhéid from Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail. The progress of the project and the reasoning behind it were discussed, as well as the aims, importance and value of projects like this.
"We want to bring a new lease of life to the project by personalising the history through historic interviews," says Cuisle Nic Liam, Project Officer with Conradh na Gaeilge. "We also want documents, photographs or indeed any evidence of events that concerned the revival of Irish in Ulster, particularly those in the context of Conradh na Gaeilge, so that we can digitise them for our website that is currently being built."
If anyone would like to undergo an historic interciew, or has any material which may be beneficial to the project, you can contact us at
