Irish at 3rd Level in the north
Conradh na Gaeilge works closely with 3rd level institutions int the north to encourage increased promotion and visibility of the language across the various campuses and universities. The CnaG team work closely with an Cumann Gaelach, Ollscoil na Banríona (and with the Dearcán Development network) and with the UUSU Magee campus Cumann Gaelach Choláiste Mhig Aoidh on the following campaigns:
- Irish language residential scheme in QUB:
- In September 2021 the Dearcán Development group, made up of students, staff and local Irish language organisations, published the following scoping document making the case for the residential scheme for Irish speakers at QUB: https://issuu.com/dearcandevelopmentgroup/docs/draft_layout_25_august_pdf
- In February February 2022 QUB announced that they intended to commence a new pilot residential scheme for the 2022-23 academic year.
- Bilingual signage on campus in QUB;
- Bilingual signage on campus in Ulster University.
